The Importance of the Role of the Teacher Essay -- Education Teaching
The Importance of the Role of the Teacher The future of the world is in the hands of the children. Whether the future be a positive or negative one depends on the children and the pedagogics they receive. The education of a child is so invaluable that one needs to consider the importance of the childs education. Also, one needs to consider how to go about nurturing those bright minds so one day they can give-up the ghost independent individuals. As Educators, one needs to be aware of the short-term effects as well as the long-term effects in which education may play on the childs views of the world. In order to be able to provide a good education to a child, it is necessary for there to be a place in which both the educator and student can meet in equal terms. In order for this to occur there has to be a bond between the teacher and student. Without this bond it is impossible for both parties to set goals, work out those goals together and finally accomplish them. A sensory facu lty of understanding between both the teacher and student is imperative. A point where both parties meet and are aware of the responsibilities each one has to each other. two the teacher and student need to be aware of each others roles and how important those roles play in the achievement of the educator and student. For example, the teacher serves as the provider of information, as well as the one that holds the occasion in a class. They hold the grades, and usually students perceive them as holding the knowledge, too (Zawodniak 124). The way teachers use this power defines the perspective of their pedagogy, the teachers perspective of the art of teaching. The approach the teacher takes and how much knowledge she would like to deliver to the class depends on th... ... free to speak their mind without cosmos intimidated of the teacher. Once students feel free to speak their mind, they will grow mentally, physically and emotionally, eventually becoming an individual who has lear ned from the teacher to respect and shelter knowledge. By working together teachers and students will achieve a pedagogy that is truly student-centered (Zawodniak 131), a relationship that is open, honest, and has one goal in mind that education is the future, and our students hold that future. The power of the future is knowledge, respect it and value it. Works Cited Cheney,Lynne V. PC Alive and Entrenched. The Presence of Others. T Second ed. New York St. Martin,1997. Book Report On 1984 By George Essay -- essays research papers
The book starts off with an interesting first sentence the clocks were striking 13. To me this was unusual because there is no 13 on a clock and it is usually considered an unlucky number. I thought it was kind of weird and different comp ard to what kind of world we are living in today. This is because in London the province of Oceania is where our first and main character Winston Smith lives. There are signs reminding citizens that Big Br opposite is always watching. Big Brother is the attraction of the party in which Winston is a part of as well as all the hoi polloi of Oceania. Winston Smith is about 39 and has on ulcer on his left ankle. He had to wear blue overalls as a rule of the party. He lives in Victory Mansions by himself. One vocabulary word that I didnt know I found on foliate 6, eddies, which is a current air running contrary to the main current. Also on page 6 I learned that in this place where Winston lives they use what is called a telescreen which watches and h ears everything everyone is doing. There is a telescreen placed in every corner of every room. This telescreen could non be turned off. If you are heard thinking of something the Big Brother does not want you to think then you will be punished by the Thought Police. This punishment could be death or a sentence of 25 years in a forced labor camp. You had to keep your feelings to yourself and endeavour to hide them from the Thought Police. Your worst enemy is your own nervous system, (page 67) this is something you hear all the time from criminals who say their self conscious got to them. There are terzetto slogans of the party, theses slogans are War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery, and Ignorance is Strength. Not everyone is a fellow member of the Party. Only about 20% of the people of Oceania are involved in the party. Most people living in Oceania are living in slums. The people are given a small amount of coupons to trade in for clothing, food or anything else they needed. On pag e 8 we find out the 4 most important buildings in Oceania. They are the four Ministries, which are all government buildings. They are the Ministry of Peace, which is concerned with war. The Ministry of Truth is concerned with news, entertainment, education and the arts. The Ministry of Love maintains law and order. The Ministry of Plenty is responsible for economic affairs. Each ministry had its own concerns and problems. I agree w... ...fter saying this, Winston is eventually let back into the world to work and live. They gave him a new look and a new job. Winston looked different because of all the scars and bruises he had suffered from being beaten in the jail. Winston then begins to love his new life and enjoys every minute of it. He is also now a good member of the party, doing everything he is suppose to, and not thinking for himself. He is thinking just like the party had taught him. He had found Julia at a restaurant, and they went to the park to talk. They both had turned against each other and decided it was best for them not to be involved anymore. It was mostly because they did not have the physical attraction to each other anymore as they utilise to. They both had changed because of being beaten in jail. A few days later an announcement comes onto the telescreen saying they have won the war and defeated Eurasia. population crowded into the street to cheer on the victory of the party. Winston jumped for joy and thats when the Thought Police had seen on the telescreen and had realized that Winston was cured and a real member of the party. He had loved Big Brother and then he was shot from behind and killed.

evolution of the horse Essay -- essays papers
evolution of the plyFor many people, the horse family remains the unspotted example of evolution. As more and more horse fossils have been found, some ideas about horseevolution have changed, but the horse family remains a good example ofevolution. In fact, we now have enough fossils of enough species in enoughgenera to examine details of evolutionary change.Evolution does not perish in a straight canal toward a goal, like a ladder rather, evolution is like a branching bush, with no predetermined goal. clamspecies were constantly branching off the evolutionary tree and evolvingalong various unrelated routes. Theres no discernable straight line of horseevolution. Many horse species were usually present at the same time, withvarious numbers of toes, and adapted to various diets. In other words, horseevolution had no inherent direction. We only have the impression of straightline evolution because only unity genus happens to still be alive, whichdeceives some people into thin king that the one genus was somehow thetarget of all the evolution. Instead, that one genus is merely the last survivingbranch of a once mighty and sprawling bush.Tracing a line of descent from Hyracotherium to Equus reveals severalapparent trends reduction of toe number, increase in size of cheek teeth, lengthening of the face, and increase in ashes size. But these trends are notseen in all of the horse lines. On the whole, horses got larger, bu...

A Womanââ¬â¢s Place Is In The House Essay
A womans place is in the house The place of woman was considered to be in the house al or so since the beginning of time. Back then, women used to be the only ones responsible for the household and for the bringing up of their children. They lacked of sufficient education, as most of them never finished school and only a minority went to the university. And even if they did acquire a higher education, they scarcely had the same opportunities as men because they were considered inferior. Therefore, they were normally forced to bow their heads and accept the situation the expressive style it was because they didnt know how to defend themselves and clarify the truth. All this took place up to 1880,when women started to rebel and to demand the equation of rights between men and women. They began fighting for their right to vote, to have the same educational opportunities as men and to be judged by their knowledge and their education and not by their sex. It took them years to accomplish their goals but they finally made it. The emancipation of woman was and still is a fact. However, in that location still exists a considerable amount of race that believes that a womans place is exclusively in the house. This, assuming that the woman is a mother and therefore responsible before the members of her family. But ar all women going to marry or be relegated to a life of inaction during their youth or while they remain single? Certainly not. Moreover, a schooled and scientific woman can understand her duties a lot better and is capable of completing them. A mother should know science in fix to inspire her children in capital deeds and noble sentiments, making them feel superior to the other objects in the universe, teaching them from the cradle to become familiar with the great scenes of nature. And nothing more ideal and sublime than the scientific mother, who goes to spend an evening at the astronomical observatory with her children by the hand to show them Jupiter, V enus, preparing in that way their tender hearts for the most legitimate aspirations that could occupy mens minds. In addition, a working woman provides financial aid and consequently a larger amount of money can be spent in order to satisfy less essential needs, which will please the members of her family. But there are times when scientific women become indifferent and are not capable of giving tenderness because they are too preoccupied with themselves and become demanding, overbearing and vain and do not know how to make a happy home. For them, there are no responsibilities to carry out, only whims to satisfy. Thus, women should find the golden scratch between the responsibilities before their family and their job in order to be happy and please their family at the same time. Besides, theres enough time and competence for cooking and mending and a great soul such as that of women, equal to their mates, born to embrace all the beauty that exists in creation of betoken origin and end, should not be wasted all on seeing if the plates are clean and the rocking cradle.

The Effectiveness of Dodd-Frank Act
The Dodd-Frank represents the most comprehensive pecuniary regulatory reform measures taken since the Great Depression in simplest arms the Dodd-Frank influence is a law that places major regulations on the financial indus soften. Dodd-Frank grew out of the Great Recession with the intention of preventing a nonher collapse of major financial institutions in the U. S. The Dodd- Frank to a fault enforces the consumer harbor act which is put in place to protect borrowers from abusive barrowing and puts regulations on banks that practice these bad habits. Why did the Dodd-Frank Act come about? In 2008 the delivery suffered a great inlet and Dodd-Frank was suppose to be the answer, the tool to fix the financial problems in the U. S. If you will. Dodd-Frank put financial regulations that were said would turn the deferral around and help prevent a recurrence on financial institutions. There are said to be m each reasons wherefore the economy started to plumb bob some say the housing market was the reason for the downward spiral of the economy and others say the banking system had a huge hand in the recession as well along with credit reporting agencies that falsely reported scores. There are m some(prenominal) contributing factors that could have been the reason for the financial downturn of the U. S. And the Dodd-Frank Act is supposed to be the answer for regulating banks ND implementing consumer protection. In 2010 President Barack Obama signed the Dodd-Frank Act in to Law to help secure the approaching economy of the U. S. I am person ally all for the Dodd-Frank law, I feel that it will benefit the U. S. Economy to have stricter laws preventing it from completely failing again. Some research shows that on that point has been as many as 47 recessions in the U. S. O something was not right and we needed a change. In my opinion there is no course that we should have experienced recession in 2009, we are supposed to be a advance country, now I understand that things happen and thats exactly why Im all for resolutions and changes and thats why I feel it is important that the Dodd-Frank and embraced and hopefully used properly. We as the United States need to tighten our laws and restrictions and work more at creation proactive rather then reactive when things go wrong and now our entire economy is at risk because of one large financial institution. As you memorise further in the paper you will see some of the provisions like many that stuck out to me and being some of the most important time also explaining why I am in favor of the Dodd-Frank law. One of the Dodd-Frank Acts main goals is to regulate banks, which means that banks will be subjected to a series of regulations and if any of the banks are determined to be too big to fail then there is a possibility that the bank can be broken up.In coordinate to be subject to focus so much on banks and making sure the banks are complaint with the regulations the bill created the fiscal St ability Oversight Council. The exchequer Secretary chairs the Council and has nine members including the Federal Reserve, the Securities and Exchange Commission and the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau or CAP. It also oversees non-bank financial firms like defer funds. The Financial Stability Oversight Council (OFFS) will monitor the markets for asset price bubbles and the build up of systemic risks. In increment, it would designate which financial firms are the systemically important. These firms would be subject to additional regulations by the Federal Reserve, which would include higher capital standards and stricter liquidity requirements, as well as requirements that they draw up a living will, that is a plan for the smashing liquidation if the firm gets into financial difficulties. Manikins,Snakeskin 2012 peg. 449) Some like that under Dodd-Frank banks are also required to have plans for a quick and orderly shutdown in the event that the bank becomes insolvent. In ac cordance with the OFFS there were other regulations that the banks would have to comply with eventually. This regulation is called the Blocker Rule, this prohibits banks from investing in or owning fudge funds at all. The Blocker Rule give awayped private equity funds and proprietress trading for the banks own profit and the banks would only be allowed to own a small percentage of the hedge and private equity funds. The Blocker rule came about because Paul Blocker was against banks using the funds the bank received from benefits deposits policy for risky trading. The Blocker Rule does allow some trading when its necessary for the bank to run its business. , so if the bank needs to trade currency to source their own holdings in a foreign currency they would be allowed to do so. The Blocker Rule was not in effect when The Dodd-Frank was sign and began implementation, it was a future regulation that later was added and implemented. Derivatives are a huge part of the Dodd-Frank deriva tives played a part in the nonfatal of GIG.Alga had to be bailed out after abundant use of derivatives, and the Dodd-Frank has placed regulations to prevent this in the future. Derivatives are financial instruments whose acquitoffs are linked to previously issued securities, such as credit default. In order to try and get a handle on this issue Dodd-Frank requires that the risky derivatives are regulated by the SEC or the commodity futures trading commission go the more transparent derivatives are put in a clearinghouse. The clearinghouse is going to act similar to the stock exchange this is a way to trade the reparative biblically. Not all derivatives will be subject to the law, The Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission approved a rule that would exempt some energy companies, hedge funds and banks from derivative oversight. (CNN, 2013) Insurance companies and credit rating agencies are some of the other financial institutions that Dodd-Fr anks effect. The Federal Insurance office was created which operates under the Treasury section to help identify indemnification companies that could pose a risk to the entire system.Dodd-Frank created this regulation because of the damage that GIG caused, so this regulation will be more proactive in avoiding the same problem again. Also in the interest of the consumers, the Federal Insurance office will collect information about the insurance industry and make sure affordable health insurance is provided for minorities. Some credit rating companies were criticized for providing scores that were not correct and there for allowing consumers to get loans they could not afford. This was saw as misleading along with over rating derivatives and mortgage-backed securities ?and saying the investment tools were worth more than their actual value. Dodd- Frank made it so as apart of the new rules, the SEC can require agencies to submit their rating systems for review, and can De-certify an a gency that gives misleading ratings. The new rule should put a stop to the issue of approving loans and mortgages that the consumers could not afford. The law requires that the consumers provide proof of income, credit, and Job history which only makes sense to make sure the consumer can afford to refund what they have barrowed. One of the gig reasons I agree with the law is the Consumer Protection, Dodd-Frank legislation created a new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CUFF) that is funded and housed with in the Federal Reserve. This regulation was to protect consumers from immoral business practices by banks. The CUFF consolidated a number of existing consumer protection responsibilities in other political relation agencies. The CUFF has the liberty to read and enforce regulations for all businesses engaged in issuing mortgage products that have more then $10 billion in assets. Manikins Snakeskin, 2012 peg. 448) The CUFF is also able to examine other financial products marke ted toward poor people in efforts to keep our economy from falling apart again from this. The law also works with the regulators in large banks to stop transactions that hurt consumers, such as risky lending. Which also bans payments to brokers for pushing borrowers into higher-priced loans, as well as giving the state lawyer general power to enforce certain rules issued by the legislation on the stricter consumer protection laws on National Banks. This allows for it to ban brokers from pushing consumers into higher ricer loans. In addition to the above-mentioned perks I also appreciate that consumers have access to information made plain for anyone to be able to understand, and there is a 24-hour hotlist to report issues with any financial services. In accordance with helping consumers stay away from faulty loans the CUFF also monitor the debit card use, credit care and pay day loan use, this seems to be a good idea to me because it can kind of hold you back from doing something the will eventually put you in the negative.Although the government always had some ability to seize failing financial institutions and slowly close them down, the government did not have total resolution over authority over the largest financial institutions. This was the issue when it came t the government saving Lehman Brothers and the there was not resolutions to be offered so the company filed for bankruptcy. Dodd-Frank now provides the government with this authority for financial firms that are deemed systemic, and also gives regulators the right to levy fees on financial institutions with more than $50 billion in assets to recoup losses. Bag of Bones CHAPTER THIRTEEN
I caught the measles when I was eight, and I was very ill. I thought you were going to die, my father t anile me at one time, and he was non a population given to exaggeration. He told me ab discover how he and my mother had dunked me in a tub of cold water one night, both of them at least half-convinced the shock of it would stop my heart, unflustered both of them completely convinced that Id burn up before their eyes if they didnt do both(prenominal)thing. I had begun to speak in a loud, monotonously discursive voice about the bright figures I saw in the room angels come to bear me a path, my terrified mother was certain(predicate) and the go a counseling time my father took my temperature before the cold plunge, he said that the mercury on the old Johnson & Johnson rectal thermometer had stood at a hundred and sextette degrees. After that, he said, he didnt dare take it anymore.I dont remember any bright figures, plainly I remember a strange geological period of time that was like being in a funhouse corridor whither several different movies were showing at once. The world grew e destructionic, bulging in places w here it had never bulged before, wavering in places where it had always been solid. People nearly of them fillming impossibly t individuallydarted in and out of my room on scissoring, cartoonish legs. Their words alone came out booming, with instant echoes. Someone move a pair of corrupt-shoes in my face. I seem to remember my brother, Siddy, raise uping his hand into his shirt and making repeated arm- far-offt noises. Continuity broke knock down. Everything came in segments, spiritual wieners on a poison string. In the years amid whence and the summer I returned to Sara Laughs, I had the usual sicknesses, infections, and insults to the body, however never anything like that feverous interlude when I was eight. I never expected to believing, I suppose, that such experiences are unique to children, people with malaria, or maybe those suffering catastrophic psychical breakdowns. But on the night of July seventh and the morning of July eighth, I lived through a period of time remarkably like that childhood delirium. Dreaming, waking, moving they were each one. Ill tell you as best I can, save nothing I say can convey the strangeness of that experience. It was as if I had found a secret p butt jointage hidden just beyond the wall of the world and went crawling along it.First in that location was music. non Dixieland, because thither were no horns, but like Dixieland. A primitive, reeling kind of bebop. Three or four acoustic guitars, a harmonica, a stand-up bass (or maybe a pair). Behind all of this was a hard, happy drumming that didnt sound as if it was coming from a real drum it sounded as if someone with a lot of percussive gift was whopping on a bunch of boxes. Then a wo compositions voice joined in a contralto voice, not quite mannish, roughing over the juicy notes. It was laughing and u rgent and ominous all at the like time, and I knew at once that I was hearing Sara Tidwell, who had never cut a express in her life. I was hearing Sara Laughs, and man, she was rocking. You know were going back to MANderley,Were gonna dance on the SANderley,Im gonna sing with the BANderley,We gonna ball all we CANderley Ball me, baby, yeahThe basses yes, at that place were cardinal broke out in a barnyard shuffle like the break in Elviss indication of Baby Lets Play House, and therefore there was a guitar pilot Son Tidwell playing that chickenscratch thing.Lights gleamed in the dark, and I thought of a song from the fifties Claudine Clark singing Party Lights. And here they were, Japanese lanterns hung from the trees above the path of railroad-tie steps leading from the house to the water. Party lights toss awaying mystic circles of radiance in the dark red blue and green.Behind me, Sara was singing the bridge to her Manderley song mom likes it nasty, mama likes it stro ng, mama likes to party all night long but it was fading. Sara and the Red-Top Boys had set up their bandstand in the driveway by the sound, about where George Footman had stage when he came to serve me with Max Devores subpoena. I was descending toward the lake through circles of radiance, past party lights surrounded by soft-winged moths. One had found its way inside a lamp and it cast a monstrous, batlike shadow against the ribbed paper. The flower-boxes Jo had put beside the steps were full of night-blooming roses. In the light of the Japanese lanterns they cyphered blue. Now the band was only a obscure murmur I could hear Sara shouting out the lyric, laughing her way through it as though it were the funniest thing shed ever heard, all that Manderley-sanderley-canderley stuff, but I could no long-run make out the individual words. Much clearer was the lap of the lake against the rocks at the foot of the steps, the hollow clunk of the cannisters to a lower place the swimmin g float, and the cry of a loon drifting out of the darkness. Someone was standing on The Street to my right, at the edge of the lake. I couldnt see his face, but I could see the cook sportcoat and the tee-shirt he was wearing beneath it. The lapels cut off some of the letters of the message, so it looked like thisORMAEROUNI knew what it said anyway in dreams you just about always know, dont you? NORMAL SPERM COUNT, a Village Cafe yuck-it-up special if ever there was one.I was in the north sleeping room dreaming all this, and here I woke up enough to know I was dreaming . . . except it was like waking into another dream, because Bunters bell was ringing madly and there was someone standing in the hall. Mr. Normal Sperm Count? No, not him. The shadow-shape falling on the door wasnt quite human. It was slumped, the arms indistinct. I sat up into the silver shaking of the bell, clutching a loose puddle of sheet against my naked waist, sure it was the shroud-thing out there the shro ud-thing had come out of its grave to submit me. transport dont, I said in a dry and trembling voice. Please dont, please. The shadow on the door raised its arms. It aint nuthin but a barn-dance sugar Sara Tidwells laughing, raving mad voice sang. It aint nuthin but a round-and-roundI lay back down and pulled the sheet over my face in a childish act of defence reaction . . . and there I stood on our little lick of beach, wearing just my undershorts. My feet were ankle-deep in the water. It was warm the way the lake gets by midsummer. My dim shadow was cast two ways, in one direction by the scantling moon which rode low above the water, in another by the Japanese lantern with the moth caught inside it. The man whod been standing on the path was at rest(p) but he had left a plastic owl to mark his place. It stared at me with frozen, gold-ringed eyes.Hey IrishI looked out at the swimming float. Jo stood there. She must own just climbed out of the water, because she was still drippi ng and her hair was plastered against her cheeks. She was wearing the two- effectuate of music swim get from the photo Id found, grey-haired with red piping. Its been a long time, Irish what do you say?Say about what? I called back, although I knew.About this She put her hands over her breasts and squeezed. urine ran out between her fingers and trickled across her knuckles.Come on, Irish, she said from beside and above me, come on, you bastard, lets go. I matte her strip down the sheet, pulling it easily out of my sleep-numbed fingers. I shut my eyes, but she took my hand and placed it between her legs. As I found that velvety seam and began to stroke it open, she began to rub the back of my neck with her fingers.Youre not Jo, I said. Who are you?But no one was there to answer. I was in the woods. It was dark, and on the lake the loons were crying. I was walking the path to Jos studio. It wasnt a dream I could feel the cool air against my skin and the occasional bite of a rock i nto my bare sole or heel. A mosquito buzzed around my ear and I waved it away. I was wearing Jockey shorts, and at every step they pulled against a huge and throbbing erection. What the hell is this? I asked as Jos little barnboard studio loomed in the dark. I looked behind me and saw Sara on her hill, not the woman but the house, a long lodge jutting toward the nightbound lake. Whats happening to me?Everythings all right, Mike, Jo said. She was standing on the float, watching as I swam toward her. She put her hands behind her neck like a calendar model, lifting her breasts more fully into the damp halter. As in the photo, I could see her nipples poking out the cloth. I was swimming in my underpants, and with the same huge erection.Everythings all right, Mike, Mattie said in the north bedroom, and I open my eyes. She was sitting beside me on the bed, smooth and naked in the weak glow of the nightlight. Her hair was down, hanging to her shoulders. Her breasts were tiny, the size of t eacups, but the nipples were large and distended. Between her legs, where my hand still lingered, was a powderpuff of blonde hair, smooth as down. Her body was wrapped in shadows like moth-wings, like rose-petals. at that place was something desperately attractive about her as she sat there she was like the prize you know youll never win at the carny shooting gallery or the county fair ringtoss. The one they keep on the top shelf. She reached under the sheet and folded her fingers over the stretched material of my undershorts.Everythings all right, it aint nuthin but a round-and-round, said the UFO voice as I climbed the steps to my wifes studio. I stooped, fished for the key from beneath the mat, and took it out.I climbed the ladder to the float, wet and dripping, preceded by my engorged sex is there anything, I wonder, so unintentionally comic as a sexually aroused man? Jo stood on the boards in her wet bathing suit. I pulled Mattie into bed with me. I opened the door to Jos s tudio. All of these things happened at the same time, weaving in and out of each other like strands of some exotic rope or belt. The thing with Jo felt the most like a dream, the thing in the studio, me crossing the floor and looking down at my old green IBM, the least. Mattie in the north bedroom was somewhere in between. On the float Jo said, Do what you want. In the north bedroom Mattie said, Do what you want. In the studio, no one had to tell me anything. In there I knew exactly what I wanted. On the float I bent my head and put my mouth on one of Jos breasts and sucked the cloth-covered nipple into my mouth. I tasted damp fabric and dank lake. She reached for me where I stuck out and I slapped her hand away. If she touched me I would come at once. I sucked, drinking back trickles of cotton-water, groping with my own hands, original caressing her ass and then yanking down the bottom half of her suit. I got it off her and she dropped to her knees. I did too, finally getting rid of my wet, clinging underpants and tossing them on top of her bikini panty. We faced each other that way, me naked, her almost.Who was the guy at the game? I panted. Who was he, Jo?No one in particular, Irish. Just another bag of bones. She laughed, then leaned back on her haunches and stared at me. Her navel was a tiny saturnine cup. thither was something queerly, attractively snakelike in her posture. Everything down there is death, she said, and pressed her cold palms and white, pruney fingers to my cheeks. She turned my head and then bent it so I was looking into the lake. Under the water I saw decomposing bodies slipping by, pulled by some deep current. Their wet eyes stared. Their fish-nibbled noses gaped. Their tongues lolled between white lips like tendrils of waterweed. Some of the dead trailed pallid balloons of jellyfish guts some were little more than bone. Yet not even the sight of this locomote charnel parade could divert me from what I wanted. I shrugged my head free o f her hands, pushed her down on the boards, and finally cooled what was so hard and contentious, sinking it deep. Her moon-silvered eyes stared up at me, through me, and I saw that one pupil was larger than the other. That was how her eyes had looked on the TV monitor when I had identified her in the Derry County Morgue. She was dead. My wife was dead and I was fucking her corpse. Nor could even that realization stop me. Who was he? I cried at her, covering her cold flesh as it lay on the wet boards. Who was he, Jo, for Christs sake tell me who he wasIn the north bedroom I pulled Mattie on top of me, relishing the feel of those small breasts against my chest and the distance of her entwining legs. Then I turn over her over on the far side of the bed. I felt her hand reaching for me, and slapped it away if she touched me where she meant to touch me, I would come in an instant. Spread your legs, hurry, I said, and she did. I closed my eyes, shutting out all other sensory input in f avor of this. I pressed forward, then stopped. I do one little adjustment, pushing at my engorged penis with the side of my hand, then rolled my hips and slipped into her like a finger in a silk-lined glove. She looked up at me, wide-eyed, then put a hand on my cheek and turned my head. Everything out there is death, she said, as if only explaining the obvious. In the envelopow I saw Fifth Avenue between Fiftieth and Sixtieth all those trendy shops, Bijan and Bally, Tiffany and Bergdorfs and Steuben Glass. And here came Harold Oblowski, northbound and scorch his pigskin briefcase (the one Jo and I had given him for Christmas the year before she died). Beside him, carrying a Barnes and Noble bag by the handles, was the bountiful, beauteous Nola, his secretary. Except her bounty was done for(p). This was a grinning, yellow-jawed skeleton in a Donna Karan suit and alligator pumps scrawny, beringed bones instead of fingers gripped the bag-handles. Harolds teeth jutted in his usual a gents grin, now extended to the point of obscenity. His favorite suit, the doublebreasted charcoal-gray from Paul Stuart, flapped on him like a sail in a fresh breeze. All around them, on both sides of the street, walked the living dead mommy mummies leading baby corpses by the hands or wheeling them in expensive prams, zombie doormen, reanimated skateboarders. Here a tall black man with a last few strips of flesh hanging from his face like cured deer-hide walked his skeletal Alsatian. The cab-drivers were rotting to raga music. The faces looking down from the passing buses were skulls, each wearing its own version of Harolds grin Hey, how are ya, hows the wife, hows the kids, writing any good books lately? The peanut vendors were putrefying. Yet none of it could quench me. I was on fire. I slipped my hands under her buttocks, lifting her, biting at the sheet (the pattern, I saw with no surprise, was blue roses) until I pulled it free of the mattress to keep from biting her on the neck, the shoulder, the breasts, anywhere my teeth could reach. enounce me who he was I shouted at her. You know, I know you do My voice was so muffled by my mouthful of bed-linen that I doubted if anyone but me could have understood it. Tell me, you bitch On the path between Jos studio and the house I stood in the dark with the typewriter in my arms and that dream-spanning erection quivering below its metal bulk all that ready and nothing willing. Except maybe for the night breeze. Then I became aware I was no longer alone. The shroud-thing was behind me, called like the moths to the party lights. It laughed-a brazen, smoke-broken laugh that could belong to only one woman. I didnt see the hand that reached around my hip to grip me the typewriter was in the way but I didnt need to see it to know its color was brown. It squeezed, slowly tightening, the fingers wriggling. What do you want to know, sugar? she asked from behind me. Still laughing. Still teasing. Do you rattling wa nt to know at all? Do you want to know or do you want to feel?Oh, youre killing me I cried. The typewriter thirty or so pounds of IBM Selectric was shaking back and forth in my arms. I could feel my muscles twanging like guitar strings.Do you want to know who he was, sugar? That nasty man?Just do me, you bitch I screamed. She laughed again that harsh laughter that was almost like a cough and squeezed me where the squeezing was best. You hold still, now, she said. You hold still, handsome boy, less you want me to take fright and yank this thing of yours right out by the . . . I lost the rest as the whole world exploded in an orgasm so deep and strong that I thought it would simply tear me apart. I snapped my head back like a man being hung and ejaculated looking up at the stars. I screamed I had to and on the lake, two loons screamed back.At the same time I was on the float. Jo was gone, but I could faintly hear the sound of the band -Sara and Sonny and the Red-Top Boys teari ng through Black Mountain Rag. I sat up, dazed and spent, fucked hollow. I couldnt see the path leading up to the house, but I could discern its switchback course by the Japanese lanterns. My underpants lay beside me in a little wet heap. I picked them up and started to put them on, only because I didnt want to swim back to shore with them in my hand. I stopped with them stretched between my knees, looking at my fingers. They were wretched with decaying flesh. Puffing out from beneath several of the nails were clumps of torn-out hair. Corpsehair.Oh Jesus, I moaned. The strength went out of me. I flopped into wetness. I was in the north-wing bedroom. What I had landed in was hot, and at firstly I thought it was come. The dim glow of the nightlight showed darker stuff, however. Mattie was gone and the bed was full of blood. Lying in the middle of that soaking pool was something I at first glance took to be a clump of flesh or a piece of organ. I looked more closely and saw it was a stuffed animal, a black-furred end matted red with blood. I lay on my side looking at it, wanting to bolt out of the bed and flee from the room but unable to do it. My muscles were in a dead swoon. Who had I really been having sex with in this bed? And what had I done to her? In Gods name, what?I dont trust these lies, I heard myself say, and as though it were an incantation, I was slapped back together. That isnt exactly what happened, bur its the only way of saying that seems to come close to whatever did. There were trey of me one on the float, one in the north bedroom, one on the path and each one felt that hard slap, as if the wind had grown a fist. There was rushing blackness, and in it the steady silver shaking of Bunters bell. Then it faded, and I faded with it. For a little while I was nowhere at all.I came back to the casual chatter of birds on summer vacation and to that peculiar red darkness that means the sun is undimmed through your closed eyelids. My neck was st iff, my head was canted at a weird angle, my legs were folded awkwardly beneath me, and I was hot.I lifted my head with a wince, knowing even as I opened my eyes that I was no longer in bed, no longer on the swimming float, no longer on the path between the house and the studio. It was floorboards under me, hard and uncompromising. The light was dazzling. I squinched my eyes closed again and groaned like a man with a hangover. I eased them back open behind my cupped hands, gave them time to adjust, then cautiously uncovered them, sat all the way up, and looked around. I was in the upstairs hall, lying under the broken air conditioner. Mrs. Meserves note still hung from it. Sitting outside my office door was the green IBM with a piece of paper rolled into it. I looked down at my feet and saw that they were dirty. Pine needles were stuck to my soles, and one toe was scratched. I got up, staggered a little (my right leg had gone to sleep), then braced a hand against the wall and stood s teady. I looked down at myself. I was wearing the Jockeys Id gone to bed in, and I didnt look as if Id had an accident in them. I pulled out the waistband and peeked inside. My cock looked as it usually did small and soft, curled up and asleep in its thatch of hair. If Noonans imbecility had been adventuring in the night, there was no sign of it now.It sure felt like an adventure, I croaked. I armed sweat off my forehead. It was stifling up here. Not the kind I ever read about in The Hardy Boys, though. Then I remembered the blood-soaked sheet in the north bedroom, and the stuffed animal lying on its side in the middle of it. There was no sense of relief attached to the memory, that thank-God-it-was-only-a-dream feeling you get after a particularly nasty nightmare. It felt as real as any of the things Id experienced in my measles fever-delirium . . . and all those things had been real, just distorted by my overheated brain.I staggered to the stairs and limped down them, holding tigh t to the bannister in case my tingling leg should buckle. At the foot I looked dazedly around the living room, as if sightedness it for the first time, and then limped down the north-wing corridor. The bedroom door was ajar and for a moment I couldnt bring myself to push it all the way open and go in. I was very badly scared, and my mind kept trying to replay an old episode of Alfred Hitchcock Presents, the one about the man who strangles his wife during an pelter blackout. He spends the whole half hour looking for her, and finally finds her in the pantry, bloated and open-eyed. Kyra Devore was the only kid of stuffed-animal age Id met recently, but she had been sleeping peacefully under her cabbage-rose coverlet when I left her mother and headed home. It was stupid to think I had driven all the way back to Wasp Hill Road, probably wearing nothing but my Jockeys, that I had What? Raped the woman? Brought the child here? In my sleep?I got the typewriter, in my sleep, didnt I? Its si tting right upstairs in the unholy hallway.Big difference between going thirty yards through the woods and five miles down the road to I wasnt going to stand out here listening to those quarrelling voices in my head. If I wasnt crazy and I didnt think I was listening to those contentious assholes would probably send me there, and by the express. I reached out and pushed the bedroom door open. For a moment I actually saw a spreading octopus-pattern of blood soaking into the sheet, thats how real and focused my terror was. Then I closed my eyes tight, opened them, and looked again. The sheets were ruffle, the bottom one mostly pulled free. I could see the quilted satin hide of the mattress. One pillow lay on the far edge of the bed. The other was scrunched down at the foot. The throw rug a piece of Jos work was askew, and my water-glass lay overturned on the nighttable. The bedroom looked as if it efficiency have been the site of a brawl or an orgy, but not a murder. There was n o blood and no little stuffed animal with black fur.I dropped to my knees and looked under the bed. Nothing there not even dust-kitties, thanks to Brenda Meserve. I looked at the ground-sheet again, first passing a hand over its rumpled topography, then pulling it back down and resecuring the elasticized corners. Great invention, those sheets if women gave out the Medal of Freedom instead of a bunch of white politicians who never made a bed or washed a load of clothes in their lives, the guy who thought up fitted sheets would undoubtedly have gotten a piece of that tin by now. In a Rose Garden ceremony. With the sheet pulled taut, I looked again. No blood, not a single drop. There was no stiffen patch of semen, either. The former I hadnt really expected (or so I was already telling myself), but what about the latter? At the very least, Id had the worlds most creative wet-dream a triptych in which I had screwed two women and gotten a handjob from a third, all at the same time. I th ought I had that morning-after feeling, too, the one you get when the previous nights sex has been of the headbusting variety. But if there had been fireworks, where was the burnt gunpowder? In Jos studio, most likely, I told the empty, sunny room. Or on the path between here and there. Just be glad you didnt leave it in Mattie Devore, bucko. An affair with a post-adolescent widow you dont need.A part of me disagreed a part of me thought Mattie Devore was exactly what I did need. But I hadnt had sex with her last night, any more than I had had sex with my dead wife out on the swimming float or gotten a handjob from Sara Tidwell. Now that I saw I hadnt killed a nice little kid either, my thoughts turned back to the typewriter. Why had I gotten it? Why dun?Oh man. What a silly question. My wife might have been keeping secrets from me, maybe even having an affair there might be ghosts in the house there might be a rich old man half a mile south who wanted to put a sharp stick into me a nd then break it off there might be a few toys in my own humble attic, for that matter. But as I stood there in a bright shaft of sunlight, looking at my shadow on the far wall, only one thought seemed to matter I had gone out to my wifes studio and gotten my old typewriter, and there was only one reason to do something like that.I went into the bathroom, wanting to get rid of the sweat on my body and the dirt on my feet before doing anything else. I reached for the shower-handle, then stopped. The tub was full of water. Either I had for some reason filled it during my sleepwalk . . . or something else had. I reached for the drain-lever, then stopped again, remembering that moment on the shoulder of Route 68 when my mouth had filled up with the taste of cold water. I realized I was waiting for it to happen again. When it didnt, I opened the bathtub drain to let out the standing water and started the shower.I could have brought the Selectric downstairs, perhaps even lugged it out on to the deck where there was a little breeze coming over the surface of the lake, but I didnt. I had brought it all the way to the door of my office, and my office was where Id work . . . if I could work. Id work in there even if the temperature beneath the roofpeak built to a hundred and twenty degrees . . . which, by three in the afternoon, it just might. The paper rolled into the machine was an old strike hard-carbon receipt from Click, the photo shop in Castle Rock where Jo had bought her supplies when we were down here. Id put it in so that the blank side faced the Courier type-ball. On it I had typed the names of my little harem, as if I had tried in some struggling way to report on my three-faceted dream even while it was going onJo Sara Mattie Jo Sara Mattie Mattie Mattie Sara Sara Jo Johanna Sara Jo MattieSaraJo.Below this, in lower casenormal spermatozoon count sperm norm alls rosyI opened the office door, carried the typewriter in, and put it in its old place beneath the poster of Richard Nixon. I pulled the pink slip out of the roller, balled it up, and tossed it into the wastebasket. Then I picked up the Selectrics plug and stuck it in the baseboard socket. My heart was beating hard and fast, the way it had when I was thirteen and go up the ladder to the high board at the Y-pool. I had climbed that ladder three times when I was twelve and then slunk back down it again once I turned thirteen, there could be no chickening out I really had to do it.I thought Id seen a fan hiding in the far corner of the closet, behind the box marked GADGETS. I started in that direction, then turned around again with a ragged little laugh. Id had moments of self-confidence before, hadnt I? Yes. And then the iron bands had clamped around my chest. It would be stupid to get out the fan and then discover I had no business in this room after all.Take it easy, I said, take it easy. But I couldnt, no more than that narrow-chested boy in the ridiculous purple bathing suit had been able to take it easy when he walked to the end of the diving board, the pool so green below him, the upraised faces of the boys and girls in it so small, so small.I bent to one of the drawers on the right side of the desk and pulled so hard it came all the way out. I got my bare foot out of its arrive zone just in time and barked a gust of loud, humorless laughter. There was half a ream of paper in the drawer. The edges had that faintly crispy look paper gets when its been sitting for a long time. I no more than saw it before remembering I had brought my own supply stuff a good deal fresher than this. I left it where it was and put the drawer back in its hole. It took several tries to get it on its tracks my hands were shaking. At last I sat down in my desk chair, hearing the same old creaks as it took my weight and the same old rumble of the casters as I rolled it forward, snugging my legs into the kneehole. Then I sat facing the keyboard, sweating hard, still rememberin g the high board at the Y, how springy it had been under my bare feet as I walked its length, remembering the echoing quality of the voices below me, remembering the smell of chlorine and the steady low throb of the air-exchangers fwung-fwung-fwung-fwung, as if the water had its own secret heartbeat. I had stood at the end of the board wondering (and not for the first time) if you could be paralyzed if you hit the water wrong. Probably not, but you could die of fear. Revenge Cycle
Revenge has the definition of taking vengeance for injuries or wrongs retaliation. In the small town, the main theme is that when people follow plans of revenge, it leads to tragedy. end-to-end the play, several different people want to take revenge on somebody. critical point is a main character who is being asked to take revenge on his uncle to fulfill his duty as a son. Hamlet by William Shakespeare is a revenge tragedy because Laertes and Fortinbras and Hamlet seek to avenge a family closing, in closely cases the death of their father and in all but one case leads to their own tragic death.Hamlets revenge for his father leads to his own death at the end. Hamlets father, the rare king Hamlet appeared in the form of the ghost in the beginning of the play. The ghost told Hamlet that his father had been killed by the current king who is the uncle of Hamlet, the current husband of Hamlets mother. Believe it or not every ghost in the world can solitary(prenominal) have the same action, revenge. You can never know with certainty which ghost is addressing whom.It is one and the same thing for Hamlet to heading his own identity and to question the ghosts identity, and his authority (Girard 3). The prince of Denmark, Hamlet, wants to avenge the current King of Denmark, his uncle, who killed Hamlets father, the old King, in order to take the crown and marry Hamlets mother. When trying to revenge his father by killing his Uncle, Hamlet accidentally kills Polonius, the father of Hamlets friend Laertes and his beloved Ophelia. In the turn of revenging his father, Hamlet in some way caused the death of many innocent people. Hamlet, again, is less remorseful about killing Polonius than annoyed with Polonius for not being Claudius, and seems genuinely bewildered that Laertes should be hostile to him(Frye 3).With the tragic loss of her father, as well as her recent messiness of her relationship with Hamlet, Ophelia becomes insane and committed suicide by drowning h erself. Now, Laertes wants revenge for his father and sister during a fencing game by poisoning the tip of the sword. If that does not work, King Claudius will have a grump of wine with poison in it that Hamlet would drink from. Laertes goes mad in a different fashion and becomes the model of the kind of revenger that Hamlet so disdains (Rose 5).Laertes kills Hamlet successfully but Hamlets mother dies accidentally by drinking the poisoned wine. The drink, the drink. Oh, Im poisoned (5. 2 45-52). And Hamlet finally fulfills the ghosts quest and killed Claudius, the murderer of his father. Hamlet himself dies at the end. There is still a son seeking revenge for his father that we might forget. The young Fortinbras of Norway is secretly readiness to invade Denmark. The tragedy that the old king caused was when he killed Old Norway in during the war. Denmark and Norway has been in war when old Hamlet is still alive, the old king killed old Fortinbras and took over some of Norways land . The old Hamlet, the murderer himself, in the various sources of the play there may be indications to that essect, but Shakespeare would have omitted them if he had wanted to strengthen the case for revenge. (Girard 3) Young Fortinbras is seeking revenge for his fathers death and the loss of his country.By the time the army of Norway arrives Denmark, everyone in the castling dies except Horatio. Young Fortinbras becomes the king of Denmark and fulfills his duty to avenge his fathers death as well. Although all the revengers took their action of seeking vengeance for their father, the only discrimination is that both Laertes and Young Fortinbras is that Hamlet didnt take revenge when he had chance. Instead, he waited and waited and losing his better chances to kill Claudius. Hamlet is a revenge tragedy, but lets rather calls it a revenge cycle.Polonius, murdered by Hamlet by accident and avenged by his son. Hamlets father, murdered by King Claudius and avenged by his son as well. This comes again in the story of the old Fortinbras and the young Frotinbras of Norway, the father slain by Hamlets father during the war. The son achieved a successful revenge by taking the throne of Denmark. Hamlet by William Shakespeare is a revenge tragedy because most of the characters in the play try to seek revenge on someone and leads to all the deaths except one case.

Applied Ethics and Social Responsibility Essay
1) Why do you designate Starbucks has been so concerned with social responsibility in its overall corporate strategy? I think that Starbucks has been concerned with social responsibility in its overall corporate strategy because in the long run it affects the bottom line. By being socially responsible, the seam is also showing that they care about more than than their profits. Caring about more than just profits allows for greater employee commitment, investor loyalty, as well as higher(prenominal) customer satisfaction. Research has also shown that social responsibility and good short letter morals contributes to higher profits. (Ferrell, Fraedrich, & Ferrell, 2013)2) Is Starbucks unique in being able to provide a high level of benefits to its employees? No, Starbucks is not unique in being able to provide a high level of benefits to its employees. Business ethics has become more important in the business world and it has been found that if a company is dedicated to taking car e of its employees, the more dedicated the employees will be. If an employee sees that the company is acting and treats them in an ethical manner, the employee is more likely to act in an ethical manner. (Ferrell, Fraedrich, & Ferrell, 2013)3) Do you think that Starbucks has grown rapidly because of its ethical and socially responsible activities or because it provides products and an environment that customers want? I think that Starbucks has grown rapidly because it has combined a product and environment that people want with great business ethics and social responsibility. This combination has allowed the company to expand exponentially during a good economy and maintain in a bad economy. By being socially responsible and treating their employees right, the company has less of a turnover rate and in the long run has been able to avoid large layoffs and shutting megabucks a large amount of stores. (Ferrell, Fraedrich, & Ferrell, 2013)4) In what other ways does this case relate t o the concepts that we have learned in the chapters so far? This first chapter has shown that ethics is a big part of business. It can basically make or break a company. In the case of Starbucks, it has made them. They have based their business around social responsibility and ethics and have been able to maintain in an economy that has tanked because they treat their employees and customers right. According to our textbook, being ethical pays off with cave in employee performance, and higher employee honesty and integrity. (Ferrell, Fraedrich, & Ferrell, 2013)BibliographyFerrell, O. Need and Success Essay
Success is something that well-nigh human always crave for, whether in the past or now. In the long history of human, in that location are many batch who have got resounding success, and they have achieved their success in many ways, with divergent efforts. In my opinion, it is easier to be a success in the modern life because of these reasons. To begin with the first one, I would like to talk about the learning avail ability in different periods of time. Though success croup be achieved in various ways, but being able to study in a cracking educating environment is a leading condition to reach the goal. In the past, it is hard for those who are poor or not in high social positions to join schools. The prejudice and the obsessive conception of the society at that time seemed to prevent studying. Being a success at that time was nearly impossible to almost ancient people. In contrast, today on that point are many schools that are opened to all the people who want to study and afford the learning fee, hence the chance to get knowledge is much easier, so is the chance to be a success. Another reason I want to mention here is that there are more and more opportunities to get a success today. The world is changing every moment, which federal agency that all positive abilities are compulsory in various knowledge bases. In addition, the society appreciates every ability that is carefully and deeply developed. A person however ineluctably to concentrate on one field or even one skill to success. For example, if in the past, especially in Eastern countries, one needed to be good at both literature and art of fighting to be a mandarin, so today, a person only has to be good at composing poems to succeed a Mathematic teacher in the past had to know well about both Geometry and Algebra, in contrary, today he who only highly concentrates on Geometry heap be a good teacher. The last reason for my statement relates to the turn that the society puts on a person, w hich forces them to try harder to survive or only to satisfy themselves, this also makes them possible to succeed. Most people want to be the equality to their peers, and that makes them stressful or even embarrassed if they cannot be as successful or as well-off as the rest of the world. They can do, why cant me? That is a common question that obsesses many persons at the first stage of their way to success. jealousy is a powerful motivation for the try of many people, and is a root of many cases of success in the world today. To sum up, success has been sought by many human generations, and each person has his admit way to get it. The difficulty level of getting success differentiates through times. In my opinion, one needs to try his best according to the condition of the era he is living to get success.

Why We Should Save Natural Resources
Why We should save intrinsic resources because if we dont, life all in allow for smash out Have you ever wondered what would happen to the earth if we apply whole of the natural resources? Is it a adventure that this would happen in the near future? Well, at the current rate of resources being used it cogency happen. Renewable resources potentiometer Be used more than once. On the other hand non-renewable resources cannot be restored after being used once its used. Additionally non-renewable resources are in limited supply and be used once.Examples of these resources are Coal, oil and natural Gasses, they are known to be fossil fuels They take millions of years to form. They collapse to be mined or drilled from deposits deep within the earth. And the Reason we should save them is because if we dont what leave we withdraw left for example if we use too much paper we will barricade up cutting down all the trees on earth causing the carbonic acid gas levels to go to high and kill us all. That is why my family save all paper we use and double side our work. The Future of our economy lies in how much we use natural resources. And harmonise to the Political Economy of Natural Resources The Development and taking of Resources leads to wars among countries and within countries(the Political Economy of Natural Resources) And if natural resources Cost more money guess who suffers? The people do, Such as if we use up all our oil the price for a car and its maintenance would be very high. And Gail Tverberg believes If the price of oil goes up the price of everything goes up Natural resources dont only affect the economy and the environment too. Natural resources are found throughout nature. So when we use it up the environment suffers to most. Without forests in current areas will never select forests again. So by cutting down trees you are fundamentally abusing the earth. And a source states That forested area are decreasing 1% every year so basically in about 100 years we will die unless we stop cutting down trees and place more of them. And half the worlds forest has already been cut down so without the trees what will stop the the soil erosion will permanently destroy the land and if that land is undone. And if the land is destroyed what will trap the Carbon dioxide or give oxygen. So if we take the natural resources, the bionetwork = earth shame = no life after some amount of years. The worlds population has grown oer the years, and because of this, more resources are needed. and as more people are born(p) there is fossil fuels used because we need to heat more peoples heating bills and electricity. So the More people born then dead in a day can make the years the earth have less. And i have a some reasons why henry should be our fuel until we can prepare enough trees for soil erosion to go away and to get some more natural resources Reasons= It is colourless and odorless it is not a fossil fuel With the right technology usi ng hydrogen, the sun and the cabbage we could get enough energy to power the whole US in 1 year. and after all the whole us is been powered stably we could store that energy and within 10 year we could have power to power the whole planet for at least 2 full years and all of the power is coming from renewable sources. And 90% of it is produced from natural gas after we make it pure it will be able to power almost everything including automobile, heat, electricity, and water Clean burning fuel It doest delegate greenhouse gasses which ruins the ozone layer Although Nonrenewable can be made from water (which has 2 part hydrogen and 1 part oxygen) and the sun. It can be made without mining from a limited supply It can be replenished through a natural processes it is the simplest element with only one proton and one eletron.

Evaluation of ââ¬ÅLetter from Birmingham Jailââ¬Â & ââ¬ÅResistance to Civil Governmentââ¬Â Essay
Evaluation of Letter from Birmingham Jail & Resistance to obliging govern custodyt Both passages Letter from Birmingham Jail and Resistance to Civil government have the same ordinary purpose which was the estimate of Civil disobedience, not agreeing with the fairness because it violates ones morality or inside conscience belief. In the Letter from Birmingham Jail Martin Luther King explains his reasoning for why he retaliated the law and the idea of protesting without violence. Henry David Theoreau recognizes the unjust ways of the government and the issues of slavery. The tone that Theoreau uses seems to be more aggravated and anger control than that of King, who expresses the issues using a less harsh tone and not as many witty comments. In Kings passage, his tone is more deep and personal, speaking on a level representing the African the Statesn community and the hardships that they go through. In Theoreaus passage, he uses a less personal cost and uses more factual based th ings and the use of grim irony explaining that what is being done is the opposite of what America was founded on, he goes on to say Must the citizen ever for a moment, or in the least degree, put forward his conscience to the legislator? Why has every man a conscience, then? I think that we should be men first, and subjects afterward This is similar to Kings quote The answer lies in the fact that there argon two types of laws just and unjust.I would be the first to advocate obeying just laws. One has not tho a legal but a moral responsibility to obey just laws. Conversely, one has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws. I would agree with St. Augustine that an unjust law is no law at all.. King also explains his reasoning for his actions, for the revolutions and rebellion for the sake of the rights that all men are created have-to doe with and should be treated that way in America, because that is what is stated in the constitution and what the Christian faith is.
